Celebrity Rehab 2 Update: Steven Adler pleads on Heroin Possession
Presently, Vh1 is airing Celebrity Rehab 2, with Dr. Drew. We get to watch these episodes unfold with Steven Adler being treated for his addiction. Yet, this is not “real time”. All of the episodes of Celebrity Rehab 2 are already taped, in the can and edited into a final product.
In “real time” events, the former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler was in court yesterday, pleading “no contest” to a heroin possession charge. His “no contest” plea was entered for him, with the hope of the former Guns N’ Roses drummer being able to enter a treatment program; yet again.
Adler is now scheduled to reappear in court 12/12/2008 for a determination at that time. Will Steven go to jail, or be sent off to drug treatment again? Will this be in time for Celebrity Rehab 3?
Steven Adler is now appearing with Jeff Conaway, Rodney King, Tawny Kitean, Nikki McKibbin, Amber Smith, Sean Stewart and Gary Busey on Celebrity Rehab 2. Ironically, this is a reality series that was shot last summer and early fall.
Adler was fired from Guns N’ Roses, because of drug problems in 1990. Since then, Adler’s dream has been to reunite with his old band mates, do a comeback album and go out on a world tour to promote this comeback album that Adler dreams of making with Guns N’ Roses.
Sounds as if Steven Adler might need more than just drug rehabilitation. Hopefully, Dr. Drew can have some influence with the court, in regard to Adler’s determination hearing, set for December. Should Adler be allowed to enter drug treatment for the crime, his drug charge would be dismissed, after treatment for Adler is completed successfully.
